Nibbled by light

Hanging or table lamp

Birch plywood

H: 30, L: 12, B: 12 cm

By piercing thin holes in its surface, a traditional japanese pattern consumes the materiality of this wooden box lamp. Another influence is legible in this design, arabic this time, in the logic of geometric drillings in an opaque material. It reminds the moucharabiehs used to filter sunlight.

The pattern is expanding here in an organic way, forming islands of light and shadow.

It creates a tension between organic and geometric languages.
